Hand-Dyed Leather Hobble Belt

Cut from thick 1/8in / 3.5mm Australian vegetable-tanned leather and hand-dyed to the colour you choose. Each belt is made to order, to your waist measurement.

How a hobble belt is used

The belt buckles snugly around the waist and becomes the anchor point for restraint. Clip wrist cuffs to it to keep hands at the hips, or link it to thigh or ankle cuffs to shorten your partner's stride to small, deliberate steps.

• Restraint without immobility – they can still move, but every step is a reminder of who is in control.
• Protocol and service play – encourages graceful, measured movement and posture.
• Layered bondage – pair with cuffs and a collar, or use as the anchor for rope work.
• Anticipation and display – a simple walk across the room becomes part of the scene.

How it's made

Every piece is made in our Queensland workshop, with every finishing step done by hand:

1. Cut – laser cut or hand cut from premium vegetable-tanned leather.
2. Edged – edges bevelled and shaped.
3. Conditioned – fed with conditioner so the leather stays supple.
4. Dyed – hand-dyed to your chosen colour.
5. Sealed – finished with a protective seal to lock in the colour.
6. Edge polished – edges burnished and polished again for a smooth, glassy finish.

The beauty of hand-dyed leather
Every piece is dyed by hand, so the colour is never flat or uniform. Expect natural variation in tone and a subtle texture where the dye soaks into the grain. No two pieces are identical. Over time the colour deepens and the leather develops a rich patina, ageing beautifully with use, just like natural leather should.

Play safely

• Negotiate limits and agree on a safe word first.
• Restricted movement means a higher risk of falls. Avoid stairs, wet floors and uneven ground, and stay within arm's reach.
• You should fit two fingers under the belt and any linked cuffs. Check often for numbness, tingling, coldness or colour change.
• Keep safety shears within reach, and never leave a restrained partner alone.

Ordering

• Colour: choose from 16 hand-dyed colours.
• Length: measure around the waist where the belt will sit, over whatever will be worn during play. Enter the measurement in inches or mm in the Length box.
• Made to order: each belt is cut and dyed for you after you order. Please allow 4–6 weeks.
